HOUSTON, TX – August 11, 2011 – The team at Prudential Gary Greene, Realtors’ Katy office recently hosted another successful fundraiser for their favorite charity, the Sunshine Kids.
The fifth annual Katy Sunshine Fest was held recently at the Katy office. Agent Bob Miles chaired the event, and Christi Borden served as media chair this year.
“We took the Katy Sunshine Fest to another level from last year’s great event and exceeded our expectations.” Miles said. Julie Lower, auction co-chair added that more than 700 people attended the event. “At our May 24 sponsor thank-you event we presented Shannon Lillis, director of operations for the Sunshine Kids, with a check for $50,000.”
The Katy Sunshine Fest started in 2006 as an open house for the office, but the agents wanted to have an annual community fundraising event for the Sunshine Kids, according to Borden. Each year the event has grown in stature and in contributions to the charity.
The Sunshine Kids Foundation provides positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients and their families. The foundation offers a variety of programs and events, free of charge, for children who are receiving cancer treatments in hospitals across North America.
